Skype for Mac Users

If you have any problems with Skype. Please post them here!!

Below are the errors we've had in the past. I thought I'll share them here so if you ever run into any of them, you'll know what to do!

NOTE: Always quit and restart skype before using the methods below.

Disk I/O Error
This error pops up after you login to skype for a few second. It'll automatically log you out.

1. Start -> Search -> "your skype username" (e.g. aqaeshey)
2. Delete "your skype username" folder.
3. Restart skype!

note: If you can't find the folder, it may be hidden.

Pending messages/not receiving new messages
If you're not receiving any pop ups/messages and the messages you type won't go through, always in pending mode.

1. Start -> Search -> "shared.xml"
2. Delete shared.xml.
3. Restart skype!

note: If you can't find the folder, it may be hidden.

Inactive Extras menu
Can't play games with us, can't install add-ons.

1. Update your skype to the latest version.
2. While installing, click on the "Options" button and make sure "Extras Manager" box is checked.

search for your 'username' folder, open folder location, and shared.xml should be in there.

For me, it's under C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Skype

===
Update: Ann found the skype folder under appdata (for Vista), and shared.xml was found as well. It was a hidden folder, so you'll have to go to folder options and click on show hidden files/folders.

is anyone having trouble with Skype?? I can't seem to login to it at home, as soon as it logs in, it'll tell me there's an error and needs to be closed or it'll be frozen, occasionally if I keep on trying then it'll work =/
